About the Event
We welcome you to join us for a community event that is set in nature
and is all about compassionate connection, playfulness, empowerment, knowledge sharing, exploring new ways of community-building and finding like-minded people.
We will feed you lots of good and organic stuff mentally, emotionally, socially & literally (there will be food).
Potgrond wants to provide fertile ground to the community to grow individually and collectively by offering workshops for all levels of depth and connection.
Think from a hairdressing or bike repair station to physical exertion workshops to turning inward and slowing down.
Apart from the workshops there will also be a makers' market where you can find arts and crafts by local queer artists/crafters.
When you want to chill out by yourself or connect non-verbally you can do that too.
Listen to relaxing music, a podcast or join the line dancing during one of the workshop slots.
This is made possible through the support of Fonkel silent radio headphones.
If you'd rather connect over food as we will also host a mutual aid kitchen for which the proceeds will go to the Sudan Solidarity Fund, which aims to provide direct financial assistance to civilian-led groups such as resistance committees and independent labour and farmers unions leading emergency relief efforts..
You can register to attend this event by clicking the register button in the bottom-left corner!
To be a part of our fair of local artists & crafters, sign up HERE.
We are still looking for volunteers for the event on the day itself and also to support the mutual aid kitchen. If this appeals to you, please reach out via potgrond.info@proton.me
We look forward to seeing you there!

Programme Details
WorkshopsNervous system walk
Let’s take our nervous system for a walk. We walk in silence, mindful of our posture and surroundings. This gives our nervous system a chance to rest and process. It might mean calming down, but it can also mean some discomfort might come up. Whatever comes up is what needs space for you right now. Be welcome!
Accessibility note: unpaved paths, some may be overgrown and slight height difference.
Bring along: sturdy shoes, rain protection, anything that makes walking more accessible to you (canes, fidget toys, …)
Max amount of participants: 10
Embodied Practice Group
Inspired by Politicised Somatics and so much more, some Gent Queers have been gathering, practising and experimenting with what it means to be embodied. What it means to be in relationship with our bodies, hearts and emotions, and what it means to do this collectively. What could then be possible?
The Embodiment Practice Group is for anyone who wants to heal and grow in and for community, for anyone who has experienced fragmentation between body and mind and is curious about why that is, and if and how we can be more intentional and sustainable with how we show up for what we care about.
It is an invitation to experiment together, to deepen our somatic vocabulary, our capacity to listen and hold space for each other and our courage to try and fail and keep practising.
Bring along: yoga mat or something to sit on comfortably, journal or notebook if you want, pen, bottle of water.
Max amount of participants: 15
WeerWoord
WeeRWooRd: A creative workshop in which we explore the connection between word art and activism, based on the themes of ‘identity’ and ‘mental health’.
We’ll work with written sources, such as newspapers and magazines, using them as inspiration to create word art about our personal feelings and frustrations. Think of a cozy wordcraft session to unwind while immersed in the creative process. No experience needed!

Intro to somatics
You've been seeing the word 'somatics' in workshops, books, social media and the likes wondering what is this buzzword? Or whenever you hear or read something like "What does your body say?" you're left a bit confused? Or maybe you know what it is and have a grasp somehow and somehow are still struggling?
Tuning in with our body can be a challenge for ND folx &/ people with trauma.
This workshop aims to go back to the basics. How can we slow down and tune in? Accessible both for newbies and people wanting to strengthen their foundations.
Bring along: yoga mat or something to sit on comfortably, journal or notebook if you want, pen, bottle of water.
Max amount of participants: 15
Line dance
Round 1: 13:30 - 14:30
Round 2: 15:30 - 16:30
No registration needed!
Join us for a good ol' time at our line dance workshop! A laid back, no-pressure space where we’ll teach you the steps, and you’ll learn how to move the rhythm of some country tunes with a little modern flair!
Ongoing programme
Pimp Your Bike
Does your bike urgently need a tune-up? Welcome to 'Pimp Your Bike,' where we get to work on the basics, like stickering your bike, pumping up the tires, oiling the chain... and so on.
Queering the garden
Welcome throughout the day in the garden for some gardening, exchanging about the intersections of queerness and ecology, enjoying all the fruityness in our more-than-human world.
Queer Grief Sanctuary
Collective silent moment at 15:00
The attack during Berlin pride has left a big impression on us. At Potgrond, we’d like to offer a space for the grief, worries but also resilience and consolation.
This is a participative space: bring whatever you’d like in honour of all the pain that our community has had to endure and/or all the love you’d like to spill.
Preparation
How to prepare for this lovely day of connection in and out of workshop spaces?
The event is an outside event in a big garden, so we are one with the elements :) Things to consider bringing:
- 🌞 Sunblock to protect from the sun
- ☂️ An umbrella to shield you from the sun
- 🧢 A hat or cap
- 🧺 Something to sit on — a blanket, pillow, plastic bag… if the ground is still humid, you can sit comfortably
- 🧘 If you want to bring a yoga mat — some workshops ask for it
- 🪑 A camping chair if you'd like to sit upright — if this isn't possible, contact us and we can provide a chair
- 🧆 Food and drinks will be available (donation/ fixed price), feel free to bring your own though!
- 💧 Definitely a bottle of water to stay hydrated!!
- 📝 Some workshops require items like paper, pen, journal, or towel
- 🫰🏻 Most spaces will have payconiq, however if you want to pay by cash for the mutual aid kitchen, the fair, or for general donations, remember to bring this as well
- 🐶 Unfortunately it is not possible to bring your pet(s)
